New Plan for Development of Lukovska Banja – Ski Resort, Golf Course, Stud Farm, Botanical Garden, New Hotels…

The Municipal Assembly of Kursumlija has adopted the Draft Amendments to the General Regulation Plan of Lukovska Banja, which was prepared by the PE Zavod za urbanizan (Urban Planning Institute) Nis.

This plan creates the urban planning basis for the further tourist development of Lukovska Banja.

The plan envisages the construction of ski resorts, an open-type sports and recreation complex with a golf course with 18 holes and a riding horse stud farm.

A closed-type sports and recreation complex will be formed through the repurposing of the existing inflatable hall.

The plan for the park-forest unit includes footpaths and mountain bike trails (health trails).

Eventually, Lukovska Banja will also get a mixed residential-office center and, among other things, a glass botanical garden with a small-animals zoo, primarily for butterflies (a lepidopterarium)

A kindergarten and a cultural center for children, a green market and a livestock market, new cemeteries and the development of the existing ones are also planned, and the document also enables the construction of new hotels and residential units.

The plan is up for public inspection until November 2.
