MK Group and AIK Bank Donate EUR 100,000 for Future Moms

Within the regional project “Family Support”, MK Group and AIK Bank have realized a donation worth EUR 100,000 directed at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital of the Clinical-Hospital Center “Dr Dragisa Misovic”. The donation has been used for the procurement of the most modern laparoscopy machine, which will be used in various gynecological procedures. It will particularly be used in treating sterility, so that women who come from the whole Serbia to the Clinical-Hospital Center “Dr Dragisa Misovic” could become mothers.

– This is not the first time that we have received a big donation from MK Group and AIK Bank. Only two years ago, we got much needed medical equipment worth EUR 20,000, and now, as part of this big, for us the most important, donation of EUR 100,000, they have provided us with a laparoscopy machine, which will enable us to use better technology to operate on over 1,000 women a year at our health institution – stated Dr Sladjana Mihajlovic, the head of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital of the Clinical-Hospital Center “Dr Dragisa Misovic”.

– Today we are witnessing something truly exceptional, as AIK Bank and MK Group have recognized the Clinical-Hospital Center “Dr Dragisa Misovic” and its Gynecology Hospital as an exceptional hospital. The donation of this laparoscopy machine will help the patients. The Ministry of Health will continue providing strong support and help to all institutions that show social responsibility and help the treatment of patients in the whole Republic of Serbia – pointed out Predrag Sazdanovic, the state secretary at the Ministry of Health.

The chief corporate affairs officer of MK Group, Aleksandra Stojanovic, said:

– Through the regional program “Family Support”, we have set aside a total of over EUR 700,000 for maternity wards in Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the seven maternity wards that we have supported, around 16 thousand babies are born every year. With such activities, our company not only contributes to the improvement of the conditions at our maternity wards, but also gives a strong incentive to the family policy.

– The family has been in the focus of our system since its very founding, whereas support to the children and the young is an important part of our strategic orientation, because they are our future. Through the family prism, we actively support the health system as well. With the “Family Support” project, we connect both these segments, looking to enable the best possible conditions for childbirth in our whole region. It is very important for maternity wards to have the most modern equipment and for pregnant women and new mothers to get the best healthcare – said Jelena Galic, the president of the Executive Board of AIK Bank.

Last year, the “Family Support” program was expanded with donations to maternity wards, and it is a traditional program for the employees, jointly realized by MK Group and AIK Bank. In the five years of its existence, over 700 families and 1,150 employees’ babies have been awarded. The idea of the donor was to include the whole region in the project and for the support to no longer be provided just to the families of the employees, but also future parents in the countries in which MK Group and AIK Bank operate.

MK Group and AIK Bank have donated over EUR 5 million in the past five years for numerous socially responsible activities, which are primarily directed at children and the young, education, healthcare and help to the most vulnerable population categories.
