Plan for a new tourist attraction is underway in the Municipality of Indjija. As the Tourist Organization points out, the plan is to create a "Serbian Cappadocia" in Indjija, and intense negotiations are underway with representatives of tourist organizations and agencies from Turkey.

The idea is to set up about twenty large hot air balloons on the territory of the municipality of Inđija, and Krcedinska ada has been mentioned as one of the best locations.

Milan Bogojevic, director of the Tourism Organization of the municipality of Indjija, spoke about this topic for Top Srbija magazine:

- This could be the biggest tourist attraction, not only in Indjija, but also in the entire region in 2023. At the first meeting held on May 25 in Ankara, we raised the issue of cooperation, and with the director of the tourist area of Cappadocia, Sezai Dogruer, I discussed exactly that type of cooperation and the model that would be applicable in Serbia. Cappadocia has stipulated by law that they cannot simultaneously raise more than 150 balloons. They have significantly exceeded that number of balloons and are very interested in new destinations and exploiting existing resources. The continuation of the talks is scheduled for August 25, when, in addition to Mr. Dogruer, nine other representatives of Turkish travel agencies will come to Indjija. This is the second direction of our engagement, to bring in tourists from Turkey.

Bogojevic added that Turkish tourists are very interested in Serbia, especially in nature:

- Gastronomy and the wine route are also attractive, but what is Indjija's trump card is our intertwined history with the Ottoman Empire. Starting with the legend that the name Indjija originates from the word Ikindija (Ikindi namazı), which is the term for afternoon prayer among Muslims, through the biggest battle of the 17th century in this area between the Ottoman and Holy Roman Empires to the preserved hammams in Stari Slankamen. All this speaks of Turkey's presence in Central Europe. They are really interested in visiting those places. Last but not least, the location of Indjija, located between the two largest cities in Serbia, should be taken into account, so it is easy for tourists from Turkey to visit the sights of these two cities.

According to him, the goal is to implement the project for the next season, from May to September 2023.

- The plan of the Tourism Organization of the municipality of Indjija for the next season is the acquisition of an adequate catamaran that would transport tourists from Krcedin to Krcedinska ada. This way, we would be able to offer an interesting trip and get a completely new tourist product competitive on the international market. - said Bogojevic for the Top portal
