Fabrika Kartona Umka Expanding Facility – New Facility for Mass Preparation to Be Built, Aiming at 200,000 Tons per Year

Fabrika Kartona Umka (Umka Cardboard Factory) has filed to the Ministry of Environmental Protection the request for giving approval to the Study of the environmental impact assessment of the project of the construction of a facility for the preparation of the mass at the factory complex in the municipality of Cukarica in Belgrade.

The factory plans to increase the production capacity to 200,000 tons a year, which is why it decided to build another facility for the preparation of the mass.

– The planned increase of the capacities of the preparation of the mass entails the use of new equipment of higher capacities and proportions and, as new devices cannot be installed in the existing hall for the preparation of the mass, a new facility needs to be built, where the new production line would be put – says the project prepared by ECOlogica Urbo doo from Kragujevac.

The single-floor facility is planned as a standalone building, on an area of around 4,850 m2. The receptacle tanks for the mass are planned to be located outside the hall itself, as is the conveyor belt that bales of input raw materials would be put on.

Fabrika Kartona Umka, which specializes in the production of cardboard exclusively through the recycling of collected waste paper and cardboard, was founded in 1939, as a facility for the production of paper and building paper.
