The Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade has opened the public procurement of services of the sampling of land and surveying agriculturists for the Ceres project.

The subject of the procurement is the collection of data on agricultural production for the purposes of the scientific-research project “EO-based information for smarter agriculture and carbon farming” (CERES), financed within the Program for Development of AI Projects of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.

As said, the successful implementation of the project depends on the possibility of using a sufficiently encompassing set of in-situ data which are essential to the training of machine learning models and the subsequent validation of models and products.

The selected bidder is expected to provide the data on the yields per parcel by farming culture (wheat, corn, soybean, sunflower, barley) for the land where crop cultures are farmed in Serbia, from 2016 on, and on a minimum of 3,000 parcels, as well as the data on the soil-working activities (shallow and deep tilling), in the same period.

The data need to be submitted by July 1 at the latest.

The tender expires on May 20.
