International Conference “Energy and the Balkans” on May 10 in Belgrade

The international conference “Energy and the Balkans: Transition Toward Renewable Sources and Improvement of Energy Connections” is held on Tuesday, May 10, at Hotel Mona Plaza in Belgrade. The conference is organized by the association of Italian business people Confindustria, along with the branch for East Europe and the Confindustria Serbia representation.

At 9.15 AM, the gathering will be officially opened by the deputy prime minister and minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, the ambassador and the head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Emanuele Giaufret, the ambassador of Italy to Belgrade, Carlo Lo Cascio, the vice president of Confindustria in charge of the internationalization of Italian companies, Barbara Beltrame Giacomello, and the president of Confindustria Serbia, Patricio Dei Tos.

The conference will be attended by high representatives of the governments of the region, the institutions of the European Union in charge of energy, companies which already operate in the Balkans region, as well as financial institutions, necessary for a sustainable and efficient green transition.

As the key speakers, the following persons will address the attendees: the minister of energy and mining of Republika Srpska, Petar Djokic, the state secretary at the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia, Zoran Lakicevic, the state secretary at the Ministry for Capital Investments of Montenegro, Marko Perunovic, the adviser to the prime minister of North Macedonia for energy, Viktor Andonov, the head of the Cooperation Department of the Delegation of the European Commission to Belgrade, Nicola Bertolini, the regional director for the energy sector of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Francesco Corbo, and the energy infrastructure expert of the Energy Community Secretariat, Davor Bajs.


Among the participants are general and executive directors, as well as members of the managing boards of the most important companies in the field of energy, the presidents of relevant associations in this field and the most prominent experts.
