Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic and President of Lombardy Roberto Formigoni agreed yesterday in Milan that the two sides were ready to carry out the cooperation that had already been agreed on and to further develop it.

According to the website of the Government of Serbia, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the Serbian government and the province of Lombardy had signed a memorandum of understanding in February 2009 in Belgrade.

Djelic yesterday handed over to Formigoni the documents that the Serbian government prepared for the implementation of projects in the Italian province.

Serbia wants to implement a partnership with Lombardy in culture, particularly within the project marking the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan, as well as in the field of entrepreneurship, to prepare for the 2015 Milan Fair, said Djelic.

Formigoni said that the representatives of Italian research centers would visit Serbia in February 2011 with the aim of organizing a biotechnology seminar.

He announced that entrepreneurs from Lombardy would be staying in Belgrade between January 31 and February 4, 2011.
