The Government of Serbia yesterday approved the export of mercantile wheat and mercantile corn to North Macedonia, for agreements signed before the temporary ban on exports of basic agri-food products came into effect.

The press release says that the government adopted a Conclusion approving the export of mercantile wheat and mercantile corn to legal entities that export these products to the Republic of North Macedonia on the basis of agreements concluded before the entry into force of the Decision on temporary ban on exports of basic agri-food products.

– This conclusion enables the performance of already agreed business arrangements between companies from Serbia and the region – it was announced following the session.

It was said that “this will not cause disturbances in the functioning of the domestic agri-food sector, nor endanger the food security of the population, and will contribute to building trust and maintaining good trade relations in the region”.
