According to the notification which was sent to 2,500 workers on Thursday, March 17, which the daily newspaper Danas has had an insight into, “due to the sanctions, there has been a break in the supply chain, so there are problems in the automotive industry as well with the procurement of semi-conductor components and, unfortunately, nobody can say with certainty at this moment when the problem is going to be solved”.
The management of the Novi Sad factory points out that there has been a cancellation of the orders of their customs and the “stopping of employees’ work”, without citing the number of the workers.
– We are aware that this is causing a large dose of concern and dissatisfaction of the employees, but we hereby note that we are following the situation daily and the we are trying, together with the corporation and our customers, to try to find the best solutions – the notification says.
The management of Novi Sad’s Lear further asks the employees to have understanding regarding, as they point out, the temporary halt in activities.
– We are asking all the employees to have understanding regarding the temporary halt in activities, because the halt is merely a consequence of the current instability caused by uncontrollable events. We all honestly hope that the situation will stabilize soon and that we will continue our regular operations.
– At the Novi Sad car wiring system factory, no one is answering our calls made to several phone numbers, so we couldn’t get a comment from the management as to whether the work has been fully stopped. As we learn officially, a part of the employees was not working even before the total stopping of the activities – Danas writes.
