The Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Committee on Foreign Economic Relations of Turkey (DEIK) will organize business meetings of business people in the Turkish cities of Bursa, Izmir and Antalya in early June. As it was stated at the meeting between Marko Cadez, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and Hami Aksoy, Turkish Ambassador to Belgrade, the aim is to intensify business contacts and increase foreign trade cooperation between Serbia and Turkey to EUR 5 billion.

The President of SCC emphasized that our country offers Turkish investors numerous investment opportunities, for example infrastructurally equipped business zones, such as the industrial park in Prahovo, Nis and Kragujevac.

The parties discussed the possibility of building an ecological farm in the Sjenica region with Turkish investment, where, among other things, the highest quality beef could be produced, the SCC website states.

The importance of establishing new direct flights to Turkey throughout the year was emphasized at the meeting, so that both tourists and business people of the two countries could achieve cooperation in a faster and easier manner.

- It is realistic to expect that foreign trade in the next four to five years will reach EUR 5 billion. Many Turkish companies are coming to Serbia to invest, because they see that the industry is rapidly transforming, especially the IT sector in which many companies from Turkey would like to invest - said Hami Aksoy, the Turkish ambassador.

Bajram Akgul, co-chairman of the Serbia-Turkey Business Council and owner of the Salcano company from Turkey, stressed the importance of Serbia's logistical position in Europe for attracting new investments and emphasized that the planned business meetings between the two countries will significantly strengthen economic cooperation.
