Kustendorf 2022 Postponed Until May

The International Film and Music Festival “Kustendorf 2022” has been postponed until May, the festival announced, according to the Film Center of Serbia, as reported by RTS.

The “Kustendorf” festival, which was scheduled for January 22 as an event with guests and an audience is being postponed by several months due to the latest increase in the number of Covid-19 cases and the highly infectious omicron variety.

As the “Kustendorf” festival is meant to gather filmmakers from the whole world, relying on direct meetings of the artists and the visitors, it has been decided for the festival to be postponed until a time when the health situation in the country and the world is more stable.

– This was a difficult decision to make, but we believe that, under the current epidemiological conditions, with the increase in the number of cases of infection, both in Serbia and the whole world, it would not be safe to organize a meeting of several hundred filmmakers, artists, employees, volunteers, friends and aficionados of cinematography. Also, the constant changes to the rules and regulations pertaining to travel and quarantine, in various countries that our guests come from, have threatened to make it impossible for us to organize “Kustendorf 2022” as planned. We believe that the situation in the country will improve and we intend to organize this year’s “Kustendorf” with the planned and announced guests this May – the organizers said in a press release.
