The PE Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) plans to build a solar power plant within the tailings pond at the open-pit mine Cirikovac. The future solar power plant Petka is located to the left of the Pozarevac-Kostolac road, and EPS has published the tender for the construction.

The location of Petka is the exterior tailings pond at the open-pit mine Cirikovac. The pond has a maximum length of 2.2 km, width of 1.2 km and a maximum height of 60 meters. It is formed on multiple levels, cone-like slopes of various widths and heights.

The regional road P-103 passes nearby. Based on the available areas and the topography of the location, the surfaces for the installation of solar panels have been chosen. According to the optimal invertor configuration at said location, it is possible to install 17,100 panels. Panels with a power of 650 W and an efficiency of 20.9% have been chosen.

Bids may be submitted by February 8, 2022.
