Digitalization has been marking the moment we live in for a long time now, and, all things considered, we are only just starting. The accelerated development of technology, the adaptation of the world to the new circumstances and the search for solutions which help overcome crises are only some of the tasks of those who deal with technologies, but also modern business.

In the industry, there’s an increasing offer of solutions that upgrade not just the business operations, but everyday life as well. Business operations, but also the whole life, are increasingly done “at a click”.

The accelerated pace of living does not leave a lot of room for us to stop and ask ourselves – how has all this happened and what lies ahead?

Due to this, eKapija’s new special edition newsletter, called “Digitalization 2021 – eWorld at a Click”, aims to provide an answer. We also talked to those who are at the center of events, the creators of the new reality, who contribute, with their solutions and ideas, to making this world smarter and simpler.

When it comes to the digital transformation and security, one of the main problems we will face is the lack of trained staff and adequate internal resources, says Majo Micovic, the CEO of Sky Express. He says that it is important to understand the prime movers and trends in cyber security solutions in order to be able to optimally use the investments in IS Safety. He also reveals the two critical factors, but also presents some of the new solutions.

The climate crisis has been in focus in the past years, and the alarming data point to the need for an urgent action and implementation of solutions which will contribute to the resolving of this global challenge. Still, according to Dejan Markovic, the vice president for the sector of energy and services for Southeast Europe at Schneider Electric, a positive outcome is possible: “We are the first generation that truly understands climate change and we are able to fight it. The solution lies in the implementation of the existing technologies and the creation of a more electric and digital world. It’s called Electricity 4.0”.

The company, its values and the vision are discussed by the director, Petar Miljkovic, and the project manager, Gordana Stefanovic Barjaktarevic.

Piotr Jelenski, the CEO of ASEE (Asseco SEE), says in his interview for eKapija on the occasion of his visit to Belgrade for the Data Science Conference Europe 2021 that, at this moment, in the IT market, there’s a great amount of money circulating, which is good for the development of entrepreneurship. However, on the other hand, there are problems with the implementation of the technology of data processing, security and the training of staff, which will all be great challenges on the road to the full implementation of artificial intelligence in everyday business and life.

When it comes to digitalization in industry, PlanRadar presents its app, meant for listing and communicating the flaws in construction real estate maintenance projects. OTP Bank presents how it serves its clients, but also reveals the recently agreed strategic partnership for the construction of the fastest AI supercomputer in Europe. Guided by the needs of the regional business on the road to digitalization, the company Mainstream created Marketplace, the first localized ecosystem of business apps in the cloud.


The development of intelligent solutions is something that goes without saying when we are talking about the digital transformation. Andjelko Vizicanin, Team Manager for Business Applications at Aigo, talks about the blockchain technology as an important element of the economic and social progress. The company Telemax from Banjaluka presents City Gecko – a brand of smart urban street furniture, whereas MikroElektronika launches Planet Debug, a Hardware-as-a-service platform. Thanks to AB Soft, we have learned what the AB Soft business software for utility services is.

The most visited website for the employment of IT candidates, HelloWorld.rs, recently carried out a survey in which 2,238 IT experts took part. The results showed that the salaries of IT candidates are up to five times higher than the average salaries in other sectors, and numerous benefits, such as flexible working hours, work from home and private health insurance are just some of the reasons why this sector is among the most demanded ones in Serbia and a field in which there are almost no unemployed people.

We also talked about the development of the gaming industry with Kristina Jankovic Obucina, Executive Manager of SGA (Serbian Games Association), about modern ways of payment with the National Bank of Serbia and the experience of a successful local startup which creates tools for blockchain developers – Tenderly, with Stefan Ignjatovic.
