Albania to Build New International Airport Near Vlore

Last week, the Albanian government picked a Swiss corporation for the project of the construction of a new international airport worth EUR 104 million.

The airport will be located in the southwest, near Vlore (Valona). The construction of another international airport is the result of the efforts to promote and boost the tourism and economic development.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy said that the corporation Mabco Constructions, headquartered in Lugano, would pay for the costs of the construction and get a 35-year concession for the management of the airport.

The first part of the construction, which is expected to start in late 2021, will take 36 months.
