METRO Cash & Carry starts construction of distribution center in Subotica on June 7 - investment worth EUR 15m
- METRO Cash & Carry Serbia will start construction of a distribution center in Subotica on Monday (June 7, 2010) - the company announced.
METRO Cash & Carry is going to invest EUR 15m in the distribution center in Subotica, the sixth in Serbia. Total of 180 inhabitants of the city and close surroundings will be working in the facility at retail surface of 6,500 square meters, of which opening is expected in autumn.
So far, METRO Cash & Carry has built two wholesale centers in Belgrade and one in Kragujevac, Novi Sad and Niš. It has invested over EUR 100m in Serbia and created 1,200 jobs.
The foundation stone will be ceremoniously laid in the presence of the Chairman of the Managing Board of METRO Cash & Carry Serbia, Veronika Puncheva, the Mayor of Subotica, Saša Vučinić, the Ambassador of Germany, Wolfram Maas, as well as the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Oliver Dulić.
