Construction of Luxury Complex Featuring Renowned Clinics Planned at Lake Ribnica

The tourist attraction on Zlatibor, Gold Gondola, has exceeded all expectations of the local self-government. If the interest continues at the current pace, the assumption is that the investment of EUR 13.5 million is to pay off in a year, whereas the initial projection was around ten years.

Furthermore, the benefits are multiple, and the local residents are to feel them too, because the price of land in this location has practically doubled. The heart of Gold Gondola is at Lake Ribnica, featuring the inter-station, where the passengers can either get off or board for a trip to the Tornik peak.

In this natural oasis, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, a tourist complex called “Zlatni grad” (“Gold City”) will be built, meant for health and sports and recreation tourism, which eKapija has already written about.

– We want to make the center of Zlatibor less overtly busy and offer more options to tourists by creating a new environment. Golf and sports courts, as well as a sports hall, will be available to tourists who enjoy expensive hotels and features, but what we’re especially looking forward to are the health clinics, making a for a whole new form of tourism on Zlatibor. Individual construction will not be possible here. Instead, only modern tourist facilities for tourists who primarily come here for medical treatment can be built – Milan Stamatovic, the president of the Municipality of Cajetina, stated for RINA.

The construction of “Zlatni grad” will be carried out in three phases and take up around 200 hectares. As soon as next year, the first facilities in the location around Lake Ribnica are expected to be raised.

Highlighted as a center of luxury, sports and health tourism, the complex will also feature renowned plastic surgery clinics.

– We know that aesthetic surgery has been very popular in Serbia in the past years and that is why their centers will be featured in this new complex. The visitors who come here to rest can dedicate their time fully to themselves, their physical appearance, but also come to Zlatibor to recover, if needed. We are already preparing infrastructural projects in the inter-station area and developing the accompanying features. This is a global trend and we certainly need it to make our tourist offer more complete – Stamatovic said.

Lake Ribnica now supplies the local populace with water, but the local self-government is working on securing alternative water supply sources for the residents of Cajetina, and one option is to build a new Susica waterworks.
