Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has stated that two Belgrade Subway lines should be built simultaneously and that they should be completed by 2030.

In Paris, after his conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, he said for TV Pink that the construction of the first two subway lines would begin by the end of 2021, and that the construction of a third one was planned as well.

– The first line will go from Mirijevo to Zeleznik and connect five municipalities, and the plan is for it to be completed by the end of 2027 – Vucic said.

As he added, the second line is to connect Mirijevo and Zemun, and the central station will be at the Belgrade Waterfront.

The third line, according to Vucic, should connect New Belgrade, from Block 71 or 72, with the city center, and all subway lines will be connected with the fast train system.

He said that the French companies hired to equip the subway had offered six models of the subway trains, of which the citizens of Belgrade would choose between three.
