Chinese Factory Xingyu Opening in Nis to Operate within Free Zone Vranje

The Xingyu factory, which should open in Nis, has asked to operate within Free Zone Vranje, and the City of Nis has launched a pertinent initiative. The free zone also agreed to expand, and they say that this means that the Chinese company will have special benefits – an exemption from the payment of the VAT and the customs fee on the import of raw materials and other materials.

The City Council of Nis believes that the initiative to expand Free Zone Vranje to the Nis territory, in accordance with the Letter of Intent sent by Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems, which is to start working in several months, is justified.

– The operations of Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems within Free Zone Vranje means that, as a tenant of the free zone, it will enjoy all the benefits and exemption, considering that their activities are export-oriented. By operating in free zones, the investor enjoys special benefits and favored tax payment arrangements, such as exemption from the VAT and the custom fee on the import of raw materials and materials meant for the production of goods meant for export, machines, equipment and building materials – the director, Branislav Stojkovic, explains.

One of the steps toward the expansion of Free Zone Vranje to the Nis territory is this initiative, he says, which the authorities in Nis and Vranje, as well as the Free Zone Administration of the Ministry of Finance, agree with.

Free zones are physically bordered and marked parts of the territory, infrastructurally equipped so that companies can carry out production and service activities with certain stimulating benefits, and Free Zone Vranje is one of the 15 free zones in Serbia.
