Works on Kuzmin-Sremska Raca Highway to Be Completed in 2022

The Turkish company Tasyapi has promised that the works on the Kuzmin-Sremska Raca highway, as part of the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway, will be completed by the end of 2022, said Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who has visited the site with Serbian Construction Minister Tomislav Momirovic.

She added that the new bridge on the Sava as part of that highway would be completed by October 2022.

– The construction of the Kuzmin-Sremska Raca highway is one of the most important projects within the Serbia 2025 project – the prime minister said and added that the project was worth a total of EUR 250 million, including the designing, whereas the works themselves were worth EUR 220 million.

She says that the second section to Sarajevo, from Pozega to Kotroman was to be designed simultaneously with this and that it should be completed by the end of 2021, so that the construction could start in early 2023.

Brnabic and Momirovic first visited the construction camp of Tasyapi near Kuzmin and then visited the site where the works on the construction of a new bridge on the Sava in Sremska Raca are being carried out.

The total length of the bridge is 1,310 meters. It consists of access concrete structures on both coasts of the Sava, of 530 meters and 450 meters, and a steel structure above the river of 330 meters.

The construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the entire region, and the total estimated value of the investment is around EUR 2 billion.
