Considering that the share of agriculture in the GDP is 7.5%, considerably more than in the comparable countries in the region, the overall result of the Serbian economy might be even bigger if innovative solutions were implemented in the agri-business. That will be one of the topics of the Summit of Business Leaders – CEO Summit Beograd, to be held ONLINE on December 2-3, 2020.
The topic of “Agriculture for the 22nd Century” will be discussed by Vladimir Crnojevic, the director of the BioSense Institute, which opened the Center for Digital Agriculture three years ago in Novi Sad at a ceremony which was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, among others. On that occasion, she pointed out that, thanks to the Novi Sad center, Vojvodina and Serbia would become a European center of excellence for agriculture, not just for the 21st century, but also for the 22nd century.
This institute also has the digital platform AgroSens, whose basic services are free for all agriculturists. The platform enables the mobile phone to become a tool for exchanging timely, geographically precise and relevant information about agricultural production activities. These are data with practical application: satellite monitoring of the condition of the crops, localized weather data, digitized data on the chemical and the mechanical composition of the soil, a log of activities on the parcel, a catalog of seeds and chemical products, a catalog of the most modern technological solutions for precision agriculture.
The full program and application for the conference are available on the official website at www.ceo-summit.rs.
