Tendering Procedure for Equipping of Laboratories for Ecological Monitoring and Biological Assessment of Freshwater Ecosystems in Western Balkans to Open Soon

Within the Erasmus+ project of establishment of higher education capacities (E+ KA2 CBHE), called “Development of Master Curricula in Ecological Monitoring and Aquatic Bioassessment for Western Balkans HEIs” (ECOBIAS), a meeting was held on Friday, July 17, at the Rector's Office of the University of Sarajevo, which was attended by the coordinator of the project, professor Dr Snezana Radulovic of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, professor Dr Rifat Skrijelj, the rector of the University of Sarajevo, professor Dr Nusret Dreskovic, the head of the Geography Department at the Faculty of Science at the University of Sarajevo, professor Dr Samir Djug, project coordinator at the Faculty of Science at the University of Sarajevo, and assistant professor Dr Adi Vesnic, project administrator at the Faculty of Science at the University of Sarajevo (PMF UNSA).

As announced on the website of the University of Sarajevo, along with discussions about the project activities and plans for the upcoming period, the main topic of the working meeting was the opening of a tendering procedure for the procurement of equipment. The University of Sarajevo is opening a joint tendering procedure for partner-universities in BiH which are taking part in this project, and the equipping of seven laboratories for ecological monitoring and biological assessment of freshwater ecosystems (EMAB) in higher education institution in the countries of the Western Balkans is one of the project's goals.


The ECOBIAS project aims to develop and upgrade the knowledge, skills and technical resources of higher education institutions in the countries-partners in ecological monitoring and biological assessment of freshwater resources in line with the national and the EU policy.

The project is coordinated by the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, and the consortium of the project consists of a total of 11 universities from five countries: University of Novi Sad (Serbia), University of Nis (Serbia), University of Zagreb (Croatia), University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany), University of Donja Gorica (Montenegro), University of Mostar (BiH), International University of Travnik (BiH), University of Tuzla (BiH), University of Sarajevo (BiH), University of Banjaluka (BiH) and University of East Sarajevo (BiH).
