A Glass of Wine with a View to the Negotin Plain and the Danube – Matalj Winery to Build Modern Wine Production and Tasting Complex

The Institute for Urban Planning and Design of the Municipality of Negotin has confirmed the urban plan for the construction of a modern winery on a parcel on the eastern side of the Zajecar-Negotin road. The investor in the project is Radisa Mladenovic Matalj, the owner of the Matalj Winery, who already has vineyards on the land planned for the construction, of 16,650 m2.

A new, single-tier winery is to be build, according to the project documentation, for the production, storage and final preparation of wine, and the winery complex will also have a tourist purpose – the plan includes a wine tasting area, and tours of the winery will be organized as well, whereby the visitors will be able to purchase the wine.

The project also entails the possibility of construction of dug-in cellars, and the winery itself will have open balconies with a view to the east, including a large part of the Negotin Plain and the Danube.

The pedestrian lanes around the facility will be paved with concrete or stone slabs on a sand base, and the remaining areas will be enriched with greenery.

The upper floor should feature two apartments for the investor's family and their guests.

A total of eight workers will stay at the winery, and the number of visitors will be up to 80, so an adequate number of parking spaces will be secured as well.

Furthermore, a substation will be built as a connection to the power distribution network, and the plan also entails an impermeable septic tank.
