The management of the Pirot-based company Tigar Tyres has decided, in line with the recommendations of the state and the local officials, to create the conditions over the next few days for the production operations to be resumed at full capacity on May 4.

The company's PR service announced that a meeting was held the previous day between representatives of the company's management and representatives of the Pirot District, the City of Pirot, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, the Chamber of Commerce of Pirot, the Public Health Institute, the trade unions and the police.

– The objective of the meeting was to exchange the information and the good practices to the end of a safe resumption of the production activities under the current conditions. Tigar Tyres presented the Protocol on Preventive Hygienic Measures of the Michelin Group, pertaining to the coronavirus pandemic, which also contains all the preventive measures adopted by the Government of Serbia – the press release says.

The company reminded that the production at the facilities in Pirot and Babusnica had stopped on March 23 at 2 pm, “with the minimum of necessary activities organized in safe conditions.”

Tigar Tyres, which is owned by Michelin, employs 3,600 workers in Pirot and Babusnica.
