Svetlana Mojić, 27-year-old architect from Novi Sad, has been successfully building the career of mega-yacht interior designer over the last few years by drawing plans for yachts for the clients from all around the world.

This year she won the prize for the best work in the field of yacht design at the international open competition for young experts from all around the world, which was organized by international institute of design “Istituto Europeo di Design“. With her mega-yacht project "Eco Chameleon yacht 127", Svetlana won the scholarship for master studies in the field of yacht design in Venice.

These one-year studies are considered as one of the best studies in the field of yacht design in the world. They are famous for the fact that, in addition to classical lectures (lecturers are world-acknowledged experts such as German Frers Junior, Sebastiano Rech Morassutti, and others), they also include practical classes, visits to the industry, guaranteed apprenticeship in world-renowned design studios....

- My project is a motor mega-yacht 38 meters long, which uses alternative sources of energy. By means of solar energy, this yacht not only saves energy, but, thanks to the panels made of smart glass, it enables complete change of the interior. I went one step further in the project - instead of usual universal design, based on numerous compromises aimed at satisfying the needs of the user, I used the concept that I named 'alterable design'. That is the design based on modern technologies that enable complete change of the space, as well as better satisfaction of the user's needs - Svetlana explains.

Svetlana takes pride in her award because it is the best award in that field ever granted to someone from Serbia and it should encourage many young creative people around her to try to do the same. When she speaks about her future plans, Svetlana says with a smile that many things are ahead of her, but she points out that her intention is to focus knowledge on her environment, shipbuilding sector in Serbia, the Danube and economic potential of tourism on that river.

In order for her success to be possible, Svetlana requires a scholarship that would cover, at least, part of her living expenses in Venice. Unfortunately, the scholarships granted by our ministries are intended for the studies that commence in October, while the specialist studies in the field of yacht design start in February 2010, so that all the deadlines for submission of applications for scholarships in our country have already expired.

This text also represents an invitation for all successful companies that operate on the territory of Serbia and those interested in top-quality staff to support their expectations by covering part of Svetlana's scholarship.
