Growth of export from Serbia - Germany, Russia and Italy as leading foreign-trade partners
The CEO of the Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Serbia (SIEPA), Vesna Perić, estimated today (October 28, 2009) that Serbia's export had started to grow at the end of year 2009.
She said at the press conference that Serbia's export growth had started after the fall that had been registered in August 2009.
Ms. Perić pointed out that Serbia had exported 3.8 billion EUR worth of products in the period January - August 2009, about 23.8% less than in the same period in 2008.
According to the data provided by the Republic Statistics Institute, the value of import in the period January - August amounted to 7.2 billion EUR, 30.7% less than in the first eight months of the last year.
The coverage of import by export amounts to 53.2%, and it is larger than in the same period in 2008, when it amounted to 48.2%.
The main foreign-trade partners in import were Germany, Russia and Italy, while the leading export partners were Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany and Montenegro.
