Vehicle inspection from summer 2021 onwards will obligate Serbian citizens to have catalytic converters installed in their vehicles.

Catalytic converters are a necessary part of the exhaust system in every new vehicle for the past ten years.

The reason for this is found in regulatory environmental standards of exhaust gas composition that all vehicles need to meet

Catalytic converters remove water, and traces of carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO – poisonous colourless and odorless gas) as well as unburned hydrocarbons that contributes to the formation of smog and oxides of nitrogen that are active during formation of acid rains.

Catalytic converter are the most effective methods of reducing toxic gases, and their efficiency rate is around 90%.
