Oldest international wine festival in Serbia Interfest to be held for 16th time in Novi Sad

Novi Sad will once again host Interfest, the oldest international wine festival in Serbia, from June 13 through 15 at the Freedom Square, from 7 pm till midnight.

For the 16th time, it will offer top quality wine and delicacies, interesting workshops and a varied music program.

Over 100 wineries have confirmed attendance, promising to bring their top quality products. The visitors will have the opportunity to taste extraordinary wines, but also learn a lot about the cultivation of grapevine, different varieties of wine, how to recognize quality wines and how to match it with food, the organizers say in a press release.

– We have been promoting wine as a source of pleasure, but also as an important economic and tourism product since 2004. The festival connects top quality drinks with quality food from Vojvodina and other parts of Serbia, combining wine with the cultural and the tourism offer. That is why Interest is important not just for wine producers, but also for gastronomes, traders, tourism workers, the City of Novi Sad and the entire region – said Natasa Budisavljevic Radisic, who initiated Interfest.

So far, Interfest has gathered over 200,000 visitors and winemakers from Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Argentina, Chile, South Africa and Australia.
