Free customs zones in Kragujevac on 55 hectares – automobiles factory area and new industrial zone “Korman polje”
City of Kragujevac and “Fiat automobiles Serbia” will form an Association for free customs zone management, to be opened in Kragujevac. The Decision should be made by the City Parliament in September, as it has been announced today by the Deputy Mayer, Nebojsa Zdravkovic.
- Free customs zone in Kragujevac will include two locations – the complete area of automobiles factory and the new industrial zone “Korman polje”, overall 55 hectares of space, said Mr. Zdravkovic to Beta Agency.
According to his words, all technical details regarding foundation of this Association have been agreed, while management participation percentage of the city and “Fiat automobiles Serbia” factory will soon be defined.
- City Parliament of Kragujevac will probably in September adopt the Decision about forming of Association, as well as the elaborate about economic justification for formation of the free zone, also said Mr. Zdravkovic.
Based on those decisions, as Mr. Zdravkovic explains, Ministry of economy and the Government of Serbia should give their approval for formation of the free customs zone in Kragujevac.
The idea of forming a free customs zone in Kragujevac has been brought up from the agreement between the State of Serbia and the Italian “Fiat” company.
A total of 5 free customs zones have been planed in Serbia, and Kragujevac zone is the only one in the area of an automobile industry.
Local management made a plan for expropriation of 55 hectares land in the industrial zone “Korman polje”, where a “Fiat” 15 cooperative factory plants will be located.
- The decision about expropriation will be made by the Government of Serbia, and parcels included in the contract with “Fiat” will be given to the Italian company to organize manufacture of parts for the automobile industry, said Mr. Zdravkovic.
He also added that the location planned for “Fiat” cooperative plants has around 200 parcels, out of which 20 hectares belong to “Zastava” and most of the land is in private property.
According to his words, “Fiat” submitted to the local management the program for distribution of capacities of cooperative companies in “Korman polje”
Based on this plan, Kragujevac city Directorate for urban planning will make a detailed regulation plan for the zone, and preliminary and detailed project designs.
- Detailed regulation plan will be finalized by the end of this year, which will be proceeded by the equipping of the zone with road and utilities infrastructure, said Mr. Zdravkovic.
Regarding all activities in the zone, representatives of the local management are considering with the main “Fiat” architect, Diego Vellini.
