Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali met with Matteo Rivellini, Head of EIB Division for Slovenia, Croatia and Western Balkans, to discuss current and future projects in Serbia supported by this financial institution.

As the Ministry of Finance announced, they discussed projects in health care, education, infrastructure and ecology.

Primarily, they talked about projects such as the Clinical Center A and the Clinical Center B, which entail modernization, upgrade and expansion of hospitals in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac, as well as the support for municipal and regional infrastructure.

Mali and Rivellini also discussed the project of the modernization of schools and the project of research and development in the public sector.

They especially focused on the two new projects to be carried out with the support of the EIB, the financing of the construction of the Nis-Plocnik-Merdare highway, Phase I (Nis-Plocnik), in the amount of EUR 100 million, and the project of the reconstruction and construction of local infrastructure in areas along the refugee route, in the amount of EUR 40 million, to be carried out by the Public Investment Management Office.


The value of the agreements signed and ratified with the EIB since 2001 amounts to EUR 3.2 billion.
