The National Theater in Belgrade has announced that the reconstruction of the frontal facade on the building has been completed successfully, now featuring clear inscriptions in Serbian and English for the first time.
The National Theater and its facade were greatly damaged during the two world wars. A thorough overhaul was carried out from 1987 till 1989. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the theater.
The works on other parts of the facade, on the sides facing Dositejeva and Francuska streets, are to continue, the press release says.
