Serbian programmers develop software for Australian National University

The official launch of CMS application software was celebrated in late November at the Australian National University (ANU). This high education institution uses the software to design study programs and courses. It is one of the key systems at the university and will be used at all faculties within the ANU. The software was developed by Global IT Factory and is largely a product of the knowledge of Serbian experts.

Serbian Ambassador to Canberra Miroljub Petrovic, who attended the ceremony, pointed out that he was very pleased that the main components of the Curriculum Management System (CMS) had been developed by IT experts from Serbia.

– In a way, this proves that a major step forward has been made and that our country is no longer merely a provider of cheap labor force, but that we are capable of demanding software development.

The director of the company in Melbourne, Boris Rosenblatt, stated for Australian media that he hoped to implement the software in other universities in Australia and the world as well.

Zdravko Loncar, the director of Global IT Factory in Belgrade, is very proud of the results of the company's team and the contribution to the CMS project.

– This is a very interesting project and practically our biggest one so far, as we are a relatively young company. Sixteen engineers were involved in the project at one point, mostly from Belgrade, with one colleague from Nis, and of course, plenty of people from Australia also worked on the project, especially in business analysis and client relations. The Belgrade team fully carried out the design, the development and the testing of the software. I also believe that the client, the Australian National University, is as satisfied with the project as we are, since everything went according to plan more or less – Loncar points out.

He adds that the agreement on software maintenance has already be signed, providing a guarantee for the ANU that they will get full support in software implementation.

– The Australian team is working on selling the software to other universities as well, so we expect that the product will develop further. I believe that our penetration of this field, together with the ANU, has been successful, so we expect further development and progress – Zdravko Loncar is optimistic. – We have shown that we can be a reliable partner to representative institutions such as the Australian National University.

Curriculum Management System (CMS), developed by Global IT Factory, is innovative software for the management of high education curricula. It is cloud-based and integrated with other systems used at the ANU, such as the student portal, student administration, course and program portal, reporting system etc. The solution was developed practically from the ground up, in line with the latest global standards, in order to serve the needs for curriculum portfolio management and maintenance at tertiary education institutions and secure the meeting of the requirements of regulatory bodies and internal university guidelines.
