"Zdravlje" treats Danes and Frenchmen – first millions of "glimepirid" pills in Danish market in May, and later in France

People in company "Zdravlje Actavis" announced last summer that the company would move its focus from eastern to western market. Export to Russia, Bulgaria and other eastern country will not be discontinued, but the drugs of this company will also be exported to the EU countries. The condition was the transfer of production from other units of "Actavis" to the Leskovac-based factory, as well as appropriate certification of products.

Following the granting of EU GMP certificate by Danish Drugs Agency, the company in Leskovac also obtained the first licenses for sale of the first product manufactured in its units in the market of France. The first millions of pills of oral hypoglycemic "glimepirid", the drug for diabetes, will appear in Danish market in May 2009, and some time later in France, because the license for that country arrived on March 5th.

According to the words of Milan Marković, the Manager of the Product Transfer Department in company "Zdravlje Actavis", the aim is that the entrance to the EU market be enabled through transfer of "Actavis" products to the units of "Zdravlje".
