Net profit of NIS Group in first half of 2018 stands at RSD 11.5 billion – Focus on strategic investments

Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) announced on Friday, July 27, 2018, that it had invested RSD 17.2 billion in development in the first half of the year, 72% more than in the same period last year.

Most investments were made in research and production, as well as the modernization of processing capacities, primarily in the construction of a deep processing facility with a delayed coker unit at the Pancevo oil refinery.

The EBITDA of NIS in the first six months of 2018 amounted to RSD 24 billion, which is 6% more than in the same period last year.

The net profit of NIS Group amounted to RSD 11.5 billion, and the company’s tax and other public revenues liabilities amounted to RSD 90.9 billion, 17% more than last year.

Around 1.70 billion tons of oil was processed at the Pancevo oil refinery, which is 3% more than in the first half of 2017. The sales increased to around 1.67 billion tons of oil products, 8% more than last year, and the exports grew by 24%.

The total production of oil and gas in the first half of 2018 amounted to 661,000 conditional tons, whereas NIS produced 78,422 MWh of electrical energy within its own capacities.

– This year, NIS will focus on strategic investments, in which we will put around RSD 47 billion, the biggest amount since 2013. We remain dedicated to financial discipline, operating efficiency and digital transformation of business, which will enable us to maximize the efficiency of business processes and further improve our results. This way, NIS will make a big step forward toward achieving the ambitious goals of the energy leader in the region, set in the Strategy of Development until 2025 – said NIS CEO Kirill Tyurdenvev.
