Contactless payment at frontal toll stations in Serbia enabled

PE "Roads of Serbia" announced on July 25 that POS terminals for contactless toll payment by Mastercard and Maestro cards had been installed at all front toll stations in cooperation with Mastercard for the purpose of faster vehicle passing through tollgates.

PE "Roads of Serbia" has enabled traffic participants to make toll payment by simply touching their contactless cards against the reader at all tollgates within "Subotica", "Stara Pazova", "Belgrade", "Niš", "Preševo", "Dimitrovgrad", "Šid", "Šimanovci" and "Preljina" toll stations, thus completing the transaction in a few seconds, without having to enter a PIN code.

– The use electronic toll collection (ETC) enables vehicles to pass tollgates in the fastest possible way without stopping, significantly reduces travel time and is also a cheaper form of toll payment, as various discounts are granted – PE "Roads of Serbia" says.

ETC devices may be topped up at 151 points of sale of PE "Roads of Serbia" and authorized distributors, located along all motorway sections, at border crossings, as well as in cities in Serbia.

As eKapija wrote recently, each third vehicle in Serbia pays the toll electronically, and revenues from electronic collection in the first half of 2018 amounted to 47.48% of the total toll revenues.
