Of the total of 26 km of the Corridor 10 section through the Grdelica Gorge, more than 20 km have been paved, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction Zorana Mihajlovic announced that the entire Corridor 10 would be completed in September or October.

The equipping of the tunnel on the southern branch of Corridor 10 will be completed by December, said Mihajlovic, who visited the highway construction site on Corridor 10 through the Grdelica Gorge, on the Caricina Dolina-Vladicin Han section, 14.3 kilometers long, together with the acting director of the Corridors of Serbia, Zoran Babic, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

The minister said that she had proposed for the highway section through the Grdelica Gorge not to open for traffic piece by piece during the summer, but to wait for several months more for everything to be completed.

– At the southern end of Corridor 10, we are completing the Grdelica Gorge, and at the eastern end, we are beginning to pave the Sicevo Gorge section – said Mihajlovic, who took a tour of the works at the Manajle tunnel, as well as the new bridge Vrla, on the section from the Manajle tunnel to Vladicin Han.

She emphasized that it was not just roads and bridges that would be built, but that they were also a step towards new investments, as investments require developed infrastructure.

Mihajlovic said that the lighting on the Vrla bridge would be completed by the end of the month and announced that the construction of the Nis-Merdare-Pristina highway, on the first section, from Nis to Plocnik, should begin in 2019. According to her, the construction of the Morava Corridor should begin in 2019 as well.

Zoran Babic said that the construction on certain spots at the Grdelica Gorge was active for 24 hours a day and that 20 km of a total of 26.3 km of the highway had been paved. He added that two layers had been laid down, as well as the wearing course, and that the works on the tunnels, mostly finished, had accelerated.

In the Momin Kamen zone, slightly over 1,500 cubic centimeters of stone was blasted, ground and used in the construction of the route, Babic said and reminded that the Manajle tunnel had been dug through the previous year and that the subgrade and the cable canals were being set up at the moment. In July, the asphalt will be laid down in the left tube and then in the right one.
