Nikola Tesla Airport Runway Run on June 10

The Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, as the host, the Belgrade Marathon, as the organizer, and the City of Belgrade, as the sponsor, announce BEG 5K Runway Run, a unique event in the region and an important project for the promotion of Belgrade as a tourist and sports destinations, but also of the airport itself.

The Runway Run is a very demanding event in terms of organization due to the fact that the Belgrade Airport has only one runway. The race needs to be held at night, when there are no flights. In line with this, all the preparations and the race itself need to be completed within three hours so that the airport services might prepare the runway for the first morning takeoff on June 10.

The race is to start on Sunday, June 10, at 1:30 am, and the track has been defined by professional services of the Belgrade Airport and the Belgrade Marathon.

The track is 5,000 meters long, and the athletes will run four laps, partly on the runway and partly on the maneuvering surfaces. The number of participants is limited to 800 this time. They all must be of a legal age and they all must pass the drug testing.
