Germany's Steag Energy Services to prepare preliminary project of reconstruction of TPP Pljevlja – Agreement worth EUR 664,000

Representatives of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) and the German company Steag Energy Services signed an agreement on the preparation of the preliminary project of an ecological reconstruction of the Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Pljevlja, worth around EUR 664,000, on March 27.

EPCG announced that the preparation of the preliminary project is to be followed by ecological reconstruction, worth EUR 40 million, which entails the construction of a desulfuring system, a system for the reduction of nitrogen oxides, a modern waste water system and an upgrade of the existing electrofiltering facility.

After the reconstruction, the first unit will be able to work for at least another 20 years in line with the new directives of threshold values of emission of toxic matters.

EPCG also said that, as part of the ecological reconstruction of the first unit of the TPP, a recultivation of the ash and slag pit in Maljevac is also to be carried out, for which they are to set aside around EUR 19 million in the next four years.
