McDonald's to open 1,000 new restaurants globally in 2018

The American fast food restaurant chain McDonald's will invest around USD 2.4 billion and open 1,000 new restaurants in the world in 2018, the company announced.
– For 2018, we plan to invest about USD 2.4 billion of capital, the majority of which will be dedicated to reinvesting in our existing locations. Our development plans also include the opening of about 1,000 new McDonald's restaurants – said McDonald's Chief Financial Officer Kevin Ozan.
McDonald's had an income of USD 5.34 billion in the fourth quarter of 2017, exceeding the expectations of analysts, who had projected an income of USD 5.26 billion.
The company's net profit reached USD 698.7 million (87 cents per share), a drop from USD 1.19 billion (USD 1.44 per share) from the corresponding period of 2016.
