The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the decision determining a public interest for expropriation, to the end of the construction of a new bridge on the Danube-Tisa-Danube canal on the Szentendre Road in Novi Sad, on January 11, 2018.

As the City Administration for Construction Land and Investments of Novi Sad told eKapija, the public interest encompasses a total of 25 cadaster parcels, all of them located in the cadaster municipality of Novi Sad I, of which 16 owned by private persons. The procedure of expropriation, that is, administrative transfer, to the benefit of the City of Novi Sad, will be carried out for all the said parcels.

– After the expiration of the deadline period of 30 days from the delivery of the decision, the procedure will be initiated by the Public Attorney's Office of the City of Novi Sad before the City Administration for Property and Property-Legal Affairs. The decision on expropriation will be adopted for each individual parcel, and the compensation is to be defined after the expropriation decisions are determined to be final.

The City Administration of Novi Sad reminds for eKapija that the funds for the resolving of property-legal relations in this location are planned by the decision on the Program of Development of Construction Land for 2018. They also announce that the exact amount will be known after the completion of the procedure of determining a just compensation before the City Administration for Property and Property-Legal Affairs of the City of Novi Sad.

Let us remind that the tender for the design of the new Szentendre Bridge was completed in late November 2017, with the contract awarded to DB Inzenjering Belgrade, which took part in the tender together with MHM-Projekt Novi Sad and the Belgrade-based Hidroprojekt-Saobracaj, Geourb Group and, Road Institute, at the price of RSD 8.6 million with VAT.

The new bridge should cost around RSD 165 million, and since most of 2018 will be spent in the preparation of the project, the construction is expected to start in 2019.

The reconstruction of the existing Szentendre Bridge, closely related to the plans for the expansion of the Szentendre Road and the construction of the twin-bridge, is to take place as well. This contract was awarded to the Belgrade-based companies Srbijaautoput and Mostogradnja on December 11, 2017, and the works are to last for 180 days.
