– In 2014 and 2015, the City of Novi Sad built slightly over 13 kilometers of the sewer network in the territory of Budisava. The works cost RSD 138 million, and we started constructing two drainage systems this year, for which the city had set aside RSD 66 million without VAT from its budget – Vucevic said.
He noted that he had been assured by the contractors that Budisava would have a fully constructed sewer network in the spring of 2018 and that the City of Novi Sad had set aside over RSD 200 million from the budget up till that point.
– Big challenges, such as Veternik and Adice, remain, but there will be big works in Veternik early next year on the sewer network, whose construction is not simple, but is important for an improved quality of life for our citizens – said the mayor of Novi Sad.
Talking about the upcoming endeavors regarding water supply and sewer network, Vucevic said that the City of Novi Sad would set aside around RSD 460 million for a capital investment which would entail the works on the expansion of the capacities of the GC 1 water treatment facility, located near the Zezelj Bridge.
According to him, the endeavor will create the conditions for shutting down the GC 2 facility, located on the corner of the Radnicka Street and the Kej Zrtava Racije Street, which doesn’t fit into its surroundings, having a negative impact on the quality of life for many citizens of Novi Sad. At the same time, the facilities would be moved to the Srem side of the city and Novi Sad might sell one of the most attractive parcels in the Radnicka Street.
