The proposition for initiating bankruptcy proceedings in Fabrika Sinskih Vozila Gosa Smederevska Palanka was filed by the Belgrade-based company Capital Consulting 2017, which had bought out claims of EUR 400,000 from the former owner of the rail vehicle factory, Slovakia’s ZOS, director of Gosa, Milutin Scepanovic, told Beta yesterday.

He said that the Trnava-based ZOS had transferred its claims to the Zvolen-based subsidiary of ZOS, which then sold it to Capital Consulting, on behalf of which the Djordjevic law office filed the proposition for initiating bankruptcy proceedings to the court so as to collect its claims.

According to Scepanovic, Capital Consulting 2017 was founded two months ago.

– We do not dispute the claim, it is the only remaining unsecured one and not too big compared to our debts towards the workers and other creditors – he said.

As he added, Gosa “has just contracted jobs and will try to stop the bankruptcy proceedings at the first hearing”, Beta reports.

The agency reported earlier yesterday that the management of Gosa Smederevska Palanka had filed a proposition for initiating bankruptcy proceedings to the court, as confirmed by the president of the Association of Free and Autonomous Trade Unions at the factory, Milan Vujicic.

– I’m not sure why it has been proposed to initiate bankruptcy proceedings, as we have started the production and done what was agreed – Vujicic said.

He added that the workers would “fight the initiation of bankruptcy proceedings and ask for help by the Government of Serbia”.

After five and a half months, the employees’ strike at Gosa ended on September 19 with an agreement with the management on the payment of a part of late salaries.

– We have been paid RSD 240,000 per worker, along with RSD 60,000 provided by the state – Vujicic said.

The workers of Gosa went on a strike due to unpaid salaries since 2015 and 4.5 years worth of contributions and taxes, bridging of service periods and extension of health insurance cards.

Gosa used to be owned by ZOS Trnava and was sold to the Cypriot company Lisnart Holdings this April.

Vujicic said that the workers have not yet met the new owner of Gosa, although he promised that he would visit the factory 15 days from the initiation of the production following the strike.
