Italian transport and logistics company Fercam opens office in Belgrade

The Italian transport and logistics company Fercam has continued expanding in Europe by opening an office in Serbia. Fercam d.o.o. Belgrade officially started operating on August 1, plutonlogistics.com reports.

Hansjoerg Faller, transport manager at Fercam, is convinced that the Serbian office has a great perspective for growth.

– We want to be close to our clients in Europe and now to those which moved their production to Serbia. Our goal is to offer to them reliable transport services from Serbia and the neighboring countries, with our own fleet and partnership transport companies. In this period, we are focusing on road transport, but, in the medium term, we plan to expand this service to the intermodal railway-road system – Faller stated.

According to the press release, the new office will focus on road transport in a very active economic exchange between Italy and Serbia. The operations will be oriented towards numerous production facilities of both Italian and other European companies present in Serbia. More precisely, companies in textile, automotive and house appliances industries are already using Fercam services to supply the European market with their products from Serbia. Fercam also provides all the services related to necessary customs procedures, plutonlogistics.com reports.

Thanks to the geographically favorable location in the center of the Balkan peninsula, Serbia is playing an increasingly important role in the access to the markets of Montenegro, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and has developed relations with Germany and Great Britain as well. The company expect that the relations between Serbia and Russia, more precisely, the free trade agreement, will also influence the good results of the Belgrade office. They are also counting on increased export of agricultural products and food to Russia, it is added.

All the branches of Fercam will provide support to the newly founded company in Belgrade, creating added value for companies which have already done business with Fercam or have yet to.

The company was founded in Italy and has a total of 89 branch offices. It currently has around 1,900 employees and secures jobs for another 3,000 people. In 2016, their turnover amounted to nearly EUR 700 million, plutonlogistics.com reports.
