Companies in Serbia owe 8.8 billion EUR to banks - debt of economy grew by 21.6% in first half of year

According to the data provided by the Credit Bureau, during the first six months of this year, companies and entrepreneurs in Serbia made the debt in amount of 123 billion RSD and the amount of their loans reached 693.9 billion RSD, that is, 8.78 billion EUR.

The debt of the economy sector grew by 21.6% in the first half of the year, while the credit debt of the enterprises grew by 22% and the credit debt of entrepreneurs by 15.2%.

Juristic persons owed 658.8 billion RSD for the loans at the end of June, while the credit debt of entrepreneurs amounted to 35.21 billion RSD.

The citizens of Serbia owed 315 billion RSD for the loans at the end of June, which is 6.8% more than at the end of year 2007. The debt per capita in Serbia amounts to 400 EUR, while the debt per employee in Serbia amounts to 800 - 900 EUR.
