The amount of the trade between Serbia and Russia might grow to USD 2 billion, said the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of Russia, Vladimir Padalko, on June 2 at SPIEF. He pointed out that Russia and Serbia had historical ties, but that there was a desire to expand the economic cooperation.

He explained in his statement for Tanjug that there were efforts to make Serbia and Russia even closer to each other and to have the joint efforts not merely localized in Serbia and Russia, but expanded to Europe and beyond.

– We have an agreement on strategic partnership with Serbia and this means a lot to us. Our task now is to focus on small and medium enterprises and that's what we will be doing in the coming period – Padalko said.

He announced new aspect of cooperation with Serbia, primarily in the export of airplanes.

– We expect to cooperate with Serbia in exporting new airplanes to the market of Europe with its help. Furthermore, there are projects in the fields of energy, industry and, traditionally, agricultural products.

– The current trade is well balanced, and we also have reserves for small and medium enterprises – Padalko concluded.
