Mayor of Ruma Sladjan Mancic has confirmed that the French company Hutchinson will officially open a new facility for the production of hoses on March 27 and that an additional 400 people will be employed by the end of 2017.

Olivier Chateau, Director of Hutchinson Serbia, explained that Ruma had been chosen for its geographical position, as well as for its surrounding, which were favorable for the development of the company’s business.

– We will be producing rubber hoses for cooling cars for both Serbia and the export to Italy and Germany – Chateau emphasized.

Let us remind that the Hutchinson factory in Ruma officially opened on 27 February, 2016. The workers had been trained in Poland, and the municipality of Ruma had provided, in July 2015, 7.8 hectares of land, where a 6,000 m2 production facility was built.

Hutchinsons investments in Ruma should reach around EUR 7.3 million, and the Government of Serbia has obliged to finance the construction of a purifier for the company, the value of which has been estimated at around EUR 900,000. The company currently employs 200 people in Ruma.
