Regardless of the several years of inactivity in the realization of the project of converting the military airport Ladjevci at Kraljevo into a civilian one, Turkey has not given up on the project, making it one of the priorities in the coming period instead, as Ambassador of Turkey to Belgrade Tanju Bilgic said.

The project was initiated in 2003 and, according to earlier announcements, Turkey is prepared to invest EUR 10 million in equipping it.

– There have been technical problems which have not yet been removed, but I’m sure we’ll overcome them. A high delegation from Turkey visited Belgrade last year and there was talk about the project. We are still in contact with Minister of Construction and Transport Zorana Mihajlovic. We have not given up on the project and its realization will be our priority in the coming period – Bilgic added.

He also pointed out that Turkey had not given up on crediting the reconstruction of the Novi Pazar-Sjenica and Novi Pazar-Tutin roads, even though the two sides had not been able to reach an agreement for several years about the interest rate nor about which companies were to perform the works.
