Russia no longer to credit Agrokor – Croatian concern needs to return borrowed money

Russia doesn't plan to credit Agrokor any longer, as Ambassador of Russia to Croatia Anvar Azimov said in Zagreb.

– We have credited Agrokor many times, because we wanted to stabilize the company. We will no longer be giving credits. I hope that Agrokor will settle all its liabilities – Anzimov said.

The Russian diplomat said that Sberbank was crediting various corporate clients and that, if Agrokor was to address them again, “it will certainly be considered, but only taking into consideration all the financial difficulties they are experiencing”.

– If Agrokor doesn't repay the money, they will have to solve this with Sberbank. However, Russia has no pretension to any part of Agrokor – Anzimov said and added that the Croatian concern needed to repay the loans.

– I do not even know the president of Agrokor, and he obviously believes that he has no need to meet me, and, accordingly, there will be consequences – Anzimov added and said that Akrokor couldn't be said to be cooperating actively.

– It's in our interest to aid companies who wish to cooperate actively with Russia. There are around ten companies still cooperating with the Russian Federation. They deliver goods in the amount of EUR 300 million, and the number amounted to around EUR 600 million before the sanctions. Agrokor is not one of those ten companies – Anzimov said.

On the other hand, Agrokor says that their communication with all investors, including those from Russia, is intensive and continuous. They add that there are currently no requests for new exposure of Russian investors or banks towards Agrokor.
