The Foreign Investors Council (FIC) and the Government of Serbia have formed a working group for carrying out recommendations from FIC's White Book. Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic was appointed president of the working group.
– The key goal of the working group is to improve the competitiveness of the Serbian market by carrying out White Book recommendations and to thereby stimulate the expansion of the current investments and attracting new ones, contribute to the economic growth and the lowering of the unemployment rate – stated President of FIC Yana Mikhailova.
She praised the cooperation with the Government and expressed her belief that the establishment and the efficiency of the working group would contribute to an increase in the realization of White Book recommendations from the current 35-45% to 50% year-over-year.
– The formation of this working group is a result of a continuous cooperation with the government and the trust-based relationship we've been building through constructive exchange of opinions, openness and consistency in dialogues – concluded the FIC president.
The working group will be headed by Aleksandar Vucic, Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic will be the deputy presidents, and the group will consist of six ministers in charge of the economic sector, members of the FIC Managing Board and the Council's Executive Director.
Expert subgroups will be formed as well, consisting of the presidents of the FIC boards and representatives of state institutions.
– Through joint work with representatives of the economy, Serbia has progressed by more than 40 spots on the Doing Business list. The establishment of the working group for carrying out recommendations from the White Book is a way of working even more efficiently together and improving the business conditions in Serbia even more quickly – said Zorana Mihajlovic.
