Jela building new 10,000 square meter factory in Jagodina

Jagodina-based furniture factory Jela is building a new factory with an area of 10,000 square meters, where the latest production technology is to be installed, stated the president of the company, Nikola Radovanovic.

– The construction of the new factory started in August. We expect the works to be completed by the end of the year, and we will install new, completely automatized technology, in February. The new technology will enable us to improve our products, create a new design and reach the kind of quality we were not able to offer to the market until now, which will be our advantage – Radovanovic said.

The company is financing the construction by itself.

Radovanovic says that their products can match those made in Europe in design and quality.

– There's no difference, as we utilize European technology, European processed materials, but we are also at an advantage due to cheaper work force – he added.

Jela is a family business founded 25 years ago and produces furniture for children's rooms, bedrooms and kitchens exclusively. Their products can currently be bought at 160 locations in Serbia.

– Aside from central, western and eastern Serbia and Vojvodina, our furniture is sold in 20 salons in Kosovo and Metohija. The sale there is very well developed and we have partners that are always with us and can be relied on – Radovanovic said.

Radovanovic stated that Jela exported to all former Yugoslavian countries and the Balkan countries, to Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, but also to Germany, the Czech Republic, Russia, Kazakhstan...

Jela employs 180 people, and the average age of the employees is 30.
