The state secretary at the Ministry of Construction, Zoran Lakicevic, has said that the ministry has invested around EUR 50 million in Serbia's south in cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany and KfW Development Bank, with the money going to Leskovac, Vranje, Pirot, Aleksinac and Trstenik.

The mayor of Leskovac, Goran Cvetanovic, emphasized the importance of the bank's support, above all in the area of utility infrastructure. Following the completion of the works, the quality of the water supply in the city and the villages will increase considerably.

– For years, the pipes would burst and we would lose a lot of water. It's only now that a serious approach to the solution to the issue of the water supply has been established – Cvetanovic pointed out.

Of the total investment of EUR 5.5 million agreed with KfW Bank, EUR 1.29 million was invested in the water infrastructure in 2015, of which EUR 388,000 as donations and EUR 906,000 to be repaid by PUE Vodovod.
